What is the difference between Fine Art, Press and Photographic Albums?
Updated
FINE ART ALBUMS
A Fine Art based album is printed on a 12 color process large format giclee printer otherwise known as inkjet.
We only use archival based inks and fine art papers that are archival certified to last 200+ years. This method provides the highest level of quality possible on the market.
We then apply a protective coating that prevents possible damage caused by finger prints and moisture.
Each printed spread is then bound to a board like paper based material that gives each page a thick and sturdy matte board like feel when in view.
PRESS PRINT ALBUMS
Identical to our Fine Art Albums in every way except for the printing method.
Your album spreads are digitally press printed using the HP Indigo also known to be one of the best digital presses in the world.
The ink is archival based and our range of fine art press papers are archival certified to last 150+ years. Although this process is more affordable the quality is exceptional.
PHOTOGRAPHIC ALBUMS
Identical to our Fine Art Albums in every way except for the printing method.
Your album spreads are printing using the traditional silver halide printing process.
This type of print is also known as Photographic and is considered the standard for professional photographers.
Silver Halide is a 100 year old technology that keeps on getting better. Continuous tone images are still the standard against which all other imaging technologies are measured.
